The third boy

He is recovering, now. His name is Robin. He is the third victim of the hospital demon, and the possession was exactly the same as before: some kind of nocturnal attack, leading to possession. While the mind and body are half-asleep, the possession goes unnoticed — it is in the morning when the victim begins to wake up properly that the fight begins.

They’re calling it seizures, the nurses. They have no other frame of reference. They think it passes with time. I have been very careful not to expose the truth, to perform silent exorcisms when the victims are alone. The other two victims have already been released from the hospital, all clear. This boy will soon be released, too. I have taken down their names and details — it is likely that they will have the sight from now on, with their souls so tainted.

What frustrates me is I am in no way closer to identifying the demon in question, and therefore to determine how best to send it back to Hell. I have not been able to sneak into the ward at night time, but the demon knows no borders — he walks where he pleases, while the forces of Good are held in check.

I tried to hide a cross under the bed of one of the other patients in the ward, a girl. She’s the closest to the door, now that Robin has been taken elsewhere. It is likely that tonight the demon will come to possess her. I thought the cross would help, but I had no time to hide it.

I will have to stop by tomorrow. I fear the worst.
